Nestled between the surrounding mountains and the Salzach is the Golf Club Hohe Tauern National Park. With its ever-recurring water hazards, its lovely old huts that are partly obstacles in the middle of the fairway, this place is considered an absolute insider tip in the Salzburger Land. Personally, I wonder again and again, in what good condition the place is already at the beginning of the season. The course is throughout the year throughout very well maintained and captivates by very well laid out greens. From my own experience, I can say that triplets are not uncommon. Many greens in the square have powerful waves, some are very large and well defended by various obstacles. On some holes, the layout entices you to cut short with risk or play over obstacles.
You should already know the place well to do this, otherwise it may be that you have to expect some surprises.
The length of the course is 5.720 m for men and 5.056 m for women. Although located in the Alps, our course is a facility on flat terrain. A small stream accompanies the golfer over 18 holes and ends in a beautiful par 3 island green. The main features of our course are the big old haystacks: there are so many of them on the course that it is essential to know the rules for immovable obstacles well.
The fairways with their sophisticated greens are harmoniously integrated into the terrain and end after the 9th and 18th holes at the clubhouse.
Pure eye candy - the view from the green to the fascinating surrounding mountains. The Hohe Tauern National Park Golf Club in Mittersill with 18 holes is, as the name suggests, in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Kitzbühel Alps. Golf in Mittersill goes even further beyond the region with a further eight golf courses in the vicinity. Golfer heart, what more do you want? The well-kept and varied courses are surrounded by mountains, meadows, forests and lakes.
Impressive and overwhelmingly beautiful, your tee with a mountain view. At Mittersill Castle, too, the theme of golf is reminiscent of past celebrities: Clark Gable visited Mittersill Castle several times and was one of the world-renowned select personalities in the Sport & Shooting Club. His passion was for the beautiful things in life - and golf. Today, the golf bag from Clark Gable in the Hotel Schloss Mittersill is reminiscent of a sporty, glamorous time.
